The
2003 Australian Air Guitar Champion is
Roxy McStagger!!
‘Roxy McStagger’,
NSW Champ, has taken out the 2nd Annual Australian Air Guitar
Championships National Grand Final, 4th April 2003, held at the ‘Troccadero’ Nightclub,
Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
Roxy
went onto represent Australia at the 8th Annual Air Guitar World
Championships (AGWC) where he placed in the top 3 taking out the bronze.
The Ideology of AGWC is to promote world peace.
According to the AGWC ideology, all evil things disappear from the
world whenever people play the air guitar.
Broken
strings, bones and dreams have been endured in a lead up to the National
Grand Final in order to find the ‘greatest guitarist in Australia who
never played’!
Now
etched in history, ‘Roxy’s’ win was sweet, but not easy, due
to very stiff competition from fellow state champions including: ‘Mr
Damage’ (NT), ‘Dan tha Man’ (ACT), ‘Rock N Roll Troy’ (VIC),
‘Young Angus’ (TAS) & the ‘Wild Man from the Wheat Belt’ (WA).
Roxy’s
dynamic stage presentation just gave him the edge over second placegetter
‘Dr Strange Pork’ (SA). Third place went to ‘G’ (QLD), our first ever female
State Champion. Competitors
put on an unforgettable show strumming up an air storm and performing
countless outrageous air antics to impress the judges and the large
appreciative audience.
The
criteria and rules were implemented as per AGWC governing body.
