2009 Thumb Wrestling World Championships – GRAND FINAL RESULTS

It was ‘thumbs up’ all the way for 21 year old international student, Camilo Arcila from Bogata, Colombia, South America at the 2nd annual Thumb Wrestling World Championships (TWWC).

In what can be described as a monumental battle of the thumbs, Camilo or 'Cam' as he prefers to be called within the confines of the TWWC arena displayed skill, strength and pure determination to secure the prestigious title of Thumb Wrestling World Champion for 2009.

'Cams' road to victory was not smooth as he encountered numerous hard fourth matches to secure his berth in the grand final against ‘DJ Chief’ (pic above) in front of the large, appreciative and at times very vocal crowd that had gathered at the La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.

Along with incredible stamina, the attributes that make 'Cam' a great Thumb Wrestler shone through in the final as he went on to defeat 'DJ Chief' in two straight sets.

The female division was won by ‘Special K’, who like her male counterpart had to face many challenges in order to secure the title, none harder then the final where ‘Special K’ proved to strong for silver medallist, ‘Nail Attack’ (pic above).

Both champions plan to renter the 2010 event in order to defend their titles.
